[Divine Skill] On August 25, 2017
, when Xiao Wu was seven years old, he already possessed his own unique divine skill. Once he decided to make a move, Xiao Wu would first enter a meditative state, and then, before the enemy could attempt a sneak attack or escape, he would swiftly and sharply snap open, his gaze instantly locking onto an enemy.
Entering a meditative state requires closing one's eyes first. I've decided to add a small point here: after Xiao Wu finishes meditating and then snaps open, he might also end up locking onto an innocent bystander with a surprised expression. Some people think this is a downside of meditative absorption, a view I disagree with. Why am I adding this explanation? I think that affecting passersby is an unexpected expansion of the divine skill's reach, making it all the more powerful.
Moreover, passersby weren't necessarily innocent; at the time, many confident boys couldn't hide their eager ambitions in their eyes and expressions. Therefore, the divine skill must be able to strike at the heart.
More importantly, the reason this martial art is called "divine" is because its domineering nature lies in the fact that once it catches any boy, few can escape within a hundred meters. At most, they can only chase them across half the playground before they have to surrender. Those with ambition are also destined to fail.
With this divine skill, Xiao Wu was considered a pioneer at the time. His classmates not only experienced it firsthand but also remembered the distinctive Xiao Wu.
Xiao Wu refused to take on disciples and had no interest in establishing a school. Apart from his obsession with martial arts, spreading his divine skill throughout the elementary school, and his willingness to fight, he paid almost no attention to anything else. Ultimately, his focus led to his fame and success.
Once prestige is established, it must be maintained. He couldn't afford to stumble when punished by the teacher. Once he made a mistake, he would go from being unwilling to follow
the rules to being completely out of the loop. Therefore, Xiao Wu listened to everyone's request to stop early on, holding back to avoid receiving invitations from the teacher. He also finished his homework on time and answered questions during breaks with composure while still holding back some points. Looking back, it became clear that Xiao Wu had already displayed leadership qualities even in elementary school.
The boys at the time vaguely recognized his charisma, especially when facing girls; they would immediately and unanimously think of him. In cross-gender battles, far exceeding the average fighting ability of all the boys, their only hope lay with Xiao Wu.
Later, his "divine skill" gained imitators, resulting in numerous versions and names. But Xiao Wu remained Xiao Wu; his "divine skill" had no name, and even the term "divine skill" itself originated from rumors among the defeated.
Later, as they grew up, their elementary school classmates became good friends, but the fame of Xiao Wu's "divine skill" remained. In later years, the skill was rarely used to bully other children; its throne was crowned when Xiao Wu used it to achieve invincibility.
