Classic quotes from Shakyamuni

   1. All phenomena are illusory. If one sees all phenomena as non-phenomena, then one sees the Tathagata.

  — Shakyamuni Buddha, Diamond Sutra
  2. Five hundred years of looking back in a past life are exchanged for a mere brush in this life.
Face it with a smile, without complaint. Be carefree, follow your heart, follow your nature, follow fate. What is destined to change one's life is only the time it takes for a flower to bloom a hundred years later.   All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles
, shadows, dew , and lightning.   Spring has a hundred flowers, autumn has the moon, summer has cool breezes, winter has snow. If there are no idle worries in your heart, then every season is a good season.   3. All phenomena are empty in nature, neither arising nor ceasing, neither defiled nor pure, neither increasing nor decreasing.   — Heart Sutra   4. Reaching out takes a moment, but holding hands takes many years. Whoever you meet is meant to be in your life; it is no accident. —If there were no debts owed, how could we meet!   5. Seeing that the five aggregates are all empty, one transcends all suffering.   —Heart Sutra   6. Form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, emptiness is form.   —Heart Sutra   7. Because there is nothing to be gained, Bodhisattvas, relying on Prajnaparamita, have no hindrance in their minds. Because there is no hindrance, they have no fear, and are far removed from distorted views and dreams, ultimately attaining Nirvana.   —Heart Sutra   8. To know the cause of the past life, look at what one experiences in this life; to know the effect of the next life, look at what one does.   9. Hatred cannot be stopped by hatred, only love can stop it.   10. Guard your speech well, do not gossip about others' faults; guard your actions well, do not violate the precepts; guard your mind well, keep it pure and undefiled.   —From the *Infinite Life Sutra*   11. The Dharma is fundamentally without   form; without form, the Dharma is still Dharma.   Now, when the Dharma is without form ,   what Dharma has ever been Dharma?   12. Whoever you meet is meant to be in your life, for a reason, for a mission; it is not accidental. They will definitely teach you something.   Note:   Those who like you give you warmth and courage;   those you like teach you love and self-control;   those you dislike teach you tolerance and respect;   those who dislike you teach you self-reflection and growth.   To be tolerant of others is to accept and understand them psychologically. I truly hope that there can be more tolerance in the world, then our lives will have more warmth and more happiness! Hate meets hate, and hate will always exist; love meets hate, and hate will naturally disappear.
